Experience Expert Training

ARION is a program built around small boat skills. Significant emphasis is placed on teaching boat moving skills. For training, athletes use personal and club boats, C2 ergs, bike ergs, and road bikes.

Athletes are also encouraged to participate in cross-training outdoors when the weather permits. Hiking, biking, swimming, and running are excellent local options. For weight training, athletes can lift at a new designed gym on our premises.

Room and Board

Visiting Summer athletes will need to find housing for the duration of the camp.  Some housing is available on site for $100/week.  Athletes in the past have found homestays, rooms to rent, and sublets to share.  Depending on the situation, budgeting for between $100 and $150/week is advised.  Accommodations during travel to away regattas is included in the program pricing.

Pricing

The ARION Summer Development program has 2 options for duration of program:

Camp Phase I only: June 8 - July 13 (5 weeks): $2125

Camp Phase I & II: June 8 - Aug 10 (9 weeks): $3600

Note: it is wise to budget $100-$150/week for housing.

Development Program Goals

ARION Development Program sets as its goal the mastery of small boat skills and the introduction to elite level training. While competition is part of the program, the focus is on the overall development of the athlete more than a particular result in the development summer.

Successes are celebrated in personal bests, adaptation to training, and small boat skills. ARION also counts as success the growth of athletes as teammates, members of the community, and humans.

Racing

Have your passport ready, the Summer Development program races at the ERA regatta in Montreal, ON and the Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catherines, ON.  Both regattas are within driving distance.  During regattas, the entry fees, lodging, coaching, gear, and equipment are included in the program fees.  Plan to pay for your own food and shared transportation costs.
